"Capital Fringe is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in the summer of 2005 with the purpose of infusing energy into performing arts in the Washington, DC region through our annual Fringe Festival and year-round Fringe Training Factory. Capital Fringe’s vigorous programs ensure the growth and continued health of the local and regional performing arts community by helping artists become independent producers while stimulating the vibrant cultural landscape in our city." — Capital Fringe
I was a venue manager in 2011, assistant master electrician in 2012, and master electrician / manager on duty in 2013. A summary of my latest role is summed up by the title "lighting coordinator."
In 2013, the festival lasted 18 days with 745 performances of 130 productions. There were 12 venues that I was responsible for. With all this on my plate, I was able to cut the electrics rental budget in half and create efficiency in use of inventory, installation, and artist interaction.
I was also responsible for designing light for several of the public spaces as well as providing consultation for theatrical spaces.
